So in theory, if you have a charactere who you had as a knight since level 1 and is now a lvl 32 knight, if you swap him into a ninja and roll him up to level 32 and then recruited a generic and made that generic into a level 32 ninja, you will see the ninja you actually played with has higher stats (not just the Knight based stats, like defense and the like, but whatever stats you got from picking up tarot cards). When a unit levels up (in the field, as opposed to recruiting a new unit and having him start at the current level) there is a small stat growth depending on the class he leveled up. I understand how the skill system works when changing classes, but not the stats system. If he starts as a knight and then turns into a ninja, will he have higher defense (and lower strength) than if I started as a warrior and then turned into a ninja? Do you keep some of the stats you gain while leveling up or do your stats totally change to match your new class? For example lets say I plan to change Denam into a Ninja later in the game. I still don’t really understand how stats work. Crossbow finishing moves are pretty damn cool as well. It turns out that a lot of the tank classes can use xbows so it’s quite feasible to have a front line fighter with a ranged weapon. I’m late in chapter 4 and my big regret is that my main character is stuck as a melee (Katana 2h) character. In addition, the sooner you get your main character on to a crossbow the better. I’m also fairly sure trajectory does nothing for magic. A surprising amount of skills are equippable long before they are learnable so pay attention. Anyone with a non-darkened portrait can equip that skill right the heck now, assuming they can learn it somehow from another class. Look instead at whether the portrait is darkened or not.
Forget the X/O or LVL notation, because those just denote who can learn a skill. What I didn’t realize for a long time is that there’s another piece of information presented in this screen in a very subtle fashion. If it’s a skill that will eventually be learnable, there may also be some text to the effect “LVL XX” under the picture. There will be red X and Green O icons on the portraits to indicate who can learn the skill. Go into the character skill screen and select the skill, then page through the info available until you see all the class portraits. The way to tell is through the character skill screen. Most skills don’t work cross class, though a few surprisingly do (Tactician I/II notably). It’s kind of annoying to think about having to get all that work done oever again.Īnyway, if I switch my mage’s class (whoever the random is that I picked up in the very first allotment of randoms) to archer to learn trajectory, and then switch back to mage, can he still equip trajectory? Because4 I’m sick of targeting my own people with deadshot.
But I thought about it and realized I’m at like 78 xp for Swords (1h). I just don’t see any reason to keep him a warrior. Anyway, I was thinking of switching my main to a 2h sword, and probably also to knight. I’m at the point where I do the mission in the necromancer’s old stomping grounds. I am in chapter 2, pretty early (I got the archer lady in my party, and she’s an instant mainstay).
